Welcome back Jan!
This week at Phil Waldrep Ministries, we are so glad to welcome back Jan. She’s now a cancer survivor, and we thank God for having provided her a safe and speedy recovery from surgery. Here she is, working on processing balance payments for our Celebrators conference in Sevierville.
(Some trivia – its proper pronunciation is like “severe-ville,” named after John Sevier.)
Sending out David Ring DVDs
So many of you who listen to our radio program, Living With Joy, appreciated David Ring’s testimony. Unfortunately, the DVD’s didn’t arrive when we expected them, and it took us weeks to work out a solution. We’re genuinely sorry about that, and trust us when we say that we’re working on improving our shipping times. You see those stacks of DVDs? That’s only a fraction of how many we’re sending out, so if you’ve been waiting on your David Ring DVD, rest assured, it’s either in the mail, or will be very soon.
And by the way, thanks again for listening and supporting Living With Joy. It has grown to reach so many people, much faster than anyone expected. We have some excellent programs coming up, including messages on improving your marriage, raising teenagers, and a challenging “radical” sermon by David Platt.
Living with Joy welcomes WZFR 104.5 FM in Eastpoint, Florida to its daily broadcast. WZFR will begin airing Living with Joy on October 4, 2011. The new station is part of the Faith Radio Network in Florida.
“The addition of WZFR to the Living With Joy family excites us,” said Phil Waldrep, host of Living with Joy. “Scott Beigle, manager of Faith Radio, is a long-time friend and one of the first to air Living with Joy.”
Living with Joy is a production of the Phil Waldrep Evangelistic Association and airs on 973 stations and translators throughout the United States.
Sending out Connect Packets
Here is Maegan mailing out packets of information about our Connect Student Event, while our Executive Director, Sam McElroy, prepares materials for the upcoming meeting about the Pastor’s Encouragement Retreat. By the way, while we mention Connect, have you heard that we’re giving away an Apple iPad?
Getting Ready for the Pastor’s Retreat
What you see here may deceive you. It may look like a very serious and important staff orientation meeting for this year’s Pastor’s Encouragement Retreat, but we’re pretty sure there was way too much laughing for that to have been a real meeting.
Before every event, Phil meets with our staff who will be working at the event, letting them know what to expect and how to best help people. Although the staff varies from event to event, if some of these faces look familiar to you, it’s because you’ve probably seen many of them working at our other events as well.
The Pastor’s Encouragement Retreat is September 9 to September 11, at the Sunday River Grand Summit Resort Hortel in Bethel, Maine.
Promoting Women of Joy in Dallas, TX.
This weekend two of our staff members, Penny and Emily, are headed to Dallas, Texas. We were invited to attend the Freedom Concert by Sean Hannity in Dallas, Texas. So we’re going and looking forward to meeting everyone there! If you’re going to be at the event, come find and talk to us, and take home our brochure and new Women of Joy promo DVD (you can see it on the table in the picture, and watch it it here on YouTube). They’re perfect for sharing with your church or group to help spread the word.
Sending out Caribbean Cruise Information
Have you requested more information about the Caribbean Cruise that Phil mentioned on Living With Joy Radio this week? When you get that brochure in the mail, it includes a special sticker on it that helps Dr. David Jeremiah and Turning Point know that you heard about it through Phil Waldrep Ministries. We’re sending those out left and right, but who puts the sticker on them? We have quite a few people who are always glad to help volunteer around the office – one of them is Ms. Burnell Waldrep. Here she is helping send out those Caribbean Cruise brochures. You can get one yourself, by requesting more information here.

Women of Joy announces featured speaker Sarah Palin in San Antonio, Texas
June 21, 2010 – Phil Waldrep Ministries has announced that former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be speaking at the Women of Joy event in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Palin will be speaking about faith and family during the Friday evening service at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio. She spoke earlier this year at another Women of Joy event in Louisville, Kentucky.
“We are delighted that Mrs. Palin chose to join us at another Women of Joy event to share how her faith impacts her life,” said evangelist Phil Waldrep. “This event is non-political. It is simply a gathering for Christian women to rejoice in their faith, renew their spirits and fellowship with their sisters in Christ.”
Women of Joy is a three-day women’s conference organized by the Phil Waldrep Evangelistic Association. In addition to Sarah Palin, other guests at the conference will be speakers Priscilla Shirer, Carol Kent, Becky Tirabassi and Liz Curtis Higgs, worship leader Charles Billingsley, and Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman.
Registration is required for attendance.
